PPA5 Halloweeen Theme

A rainy day, time to play at PPA! I got a chance to make this Halloween card for the PPA5 challenge. I also used the MojoMonday week #101 card sketch. I don't make many square cards but this 4 1/4 square one turned out pretty good. Lotta multi-tasking today for me! This stamp, Little Boo, is one of the ones in the back of the catalog on the under $10 page. It's too cute and the image coordinates with the 1 1/4 inch circle punch. It might be hard to see but I ran the Basic Black piece thru the Big Shot with the diamond texturz plate from the Backgrounds 1 set. And once again, the Razzleberry Lemonade papers are too versatile.
Here's my recipe:
Stamps: Little Boo
Papers: Whisper White, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Razzleberry Lemonade
Inks: Basic Black
Accessories: 1 1/4 inch circle punch, 1 3/8 inch circle punch, Stampin Up Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plates, 1/2 inch pumpkin pie striped grosgrain ribbon, Stampin' dimensionals

Two Splitcoast Challenges in one Card

I made this card for two Splitcoast Challenges. Color Combo #233-Chocolate Chip, Kraft and Real Red. And the sketch #243 here. I'm always in on anything to do with Real Red!
This card has a bit of retired designer paper-the polka-dot Kraft pattern is from the Patterns Pack Level 1 Hostess set of the Fall-Winter 2008 catalog. The stamp set is Two Cool Dudes and is really cute!
Here's my recipe:
Stamps: Two Cool Dudes
Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Kraft, Real Red, Christmas Cocoa Specialty papers, Kraft patterns
Inks: Real Red, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: 1/2 inch circle punch

Another Birthday Card

I made this one a while back but just realized I never posted it. It's another birthday card for Home & School. I cut the Scallop Circle #2 bigger circle in half and stamped it with the flowers from Garden Greetings(dormant list)in Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry and Orchid Opulence. I used the oval punch and layered that over the scallop oval punch for the birthday wishes. Quick and cute!
Here's my recipe:
Stamps: Garden Greetings(Dormant list)
Papers: Whisper white, Old Olive, Orchid Opulence, Cottage Wall DSP
Inks: Orchid Opulence, Rich razzleberry, Old Olive
Accessories: Bigz Scallop Circle #2 die, oval and scallop oval punches, old olive 5/8 inch grosgrain ribbon

I HAD to Stamp!

I FINALLY got to stamp today. I think that's why I'm so crabby-no stamping since Saturday! I've been helping my parents clean out for a garage sale. Lotsa stuff after 43 years of marriage in the same house. Then today and yesterday had 5 back to school meetings in two days. I'm the new Home & School President so I've got lots more work to do but I HAD to stamp.
So this card was for this sketch from last week's Mojo 100th.
I used the Christmas Cocoa Specialty papers and the snowflake from the Berry Christmas set. I stamped it in a VersaMark pad, sprinkled some Iridescent Ice Stampin' Emboss power and heated that up. It's much more sparkly in real life!
Here's my recipe:
Stamps: Berry Christmas
Papers: Shimmery White card stock, Soft Suede, Christmas Cocoa Specialty Papers
Inks: VersaMark pad, Soft Suede
Accessories: Stampin' Emboss Powder Iridescent Ice, Soft Suede polka-dot grosgrain ribbon, word window punch, scallop circle punch, 1 3/8 inch circle punch, Stampin' dimensionals, heat gun

Stamping 411 Birthday Card

It's Saturday and that means a new sketch here at Stamping 411. I know I'm repeating myself but these sketches are the best! They're pretty basic but help me whip up a really cute card, really fast! I need more birthday cards for Home & School so I made this one with the Thoroughly Modern papers.
Here's my recipe:
Stamps: Party Hearty
Papers: Whisper White, Rose Red, Soft Suede, Thoroughly Modern DSP
Inks: Rose Red, Soft Suede and Bermuda Bay
Accessories: Word window punch, Modern Label punch, Soft Suede polka-dot grosgrain ribbon, Stampin' dimensionals

PPA4-Anything But a Card

I had to play at PPA today! It's anything but a card and I immediately thought of this mini pizza box. Here's a link to Jen del Muro's instructions-warning, they're addictive! I made this one for a present for my daughter's friend. The box nicely fits a gift card, in this case an itunes card. I used Crushed Curry and a Ruby Red piece from The Write Stuff Specialty Designer Papers. I put the edges of the top of the box thru the Scallop Edge punch before I put the box together. The stamps from Think Happy Thoughts fit exactly in the 1 1/4 in circle punch. A little layering, a brad, some white gel pen dots and you're done. And the polka-dot grosgrain ribbon keeps the box tightly closed and adds just the right finishing touch. Here's my recipe:
Stamps: Think Happy Thoughts, Just Jawing
Papers: Whisper White, Crushed Curry, Ruby Red, The Write Stuff Specialty Designer Papers
Inks: Crushed Curry, Ruby Red
Accessories: Scallop edge punch, scallop circle punch, 1 3/8 inch circle punch, 1 1/4 inch circle punch, Earth Elements brads, Designer Hodgepodge Hardware ribbon slide, Crushed Curry polka-dot grosgrain ribbon, Stampin' dimensionals

Another post with more MOJO

I did the daily Mojo sketch here. They're having a sketch every day to celebrate their 100th. Unfortunately, I needed another sympathy card. My friend Mary's dad passed away. The last one I made was for her because her uncle died. I'm keeping Mary and family in my prayers. Here's my recipe:
Stamps: Close as a Memory
Papers: Whisper White, Sahara Sand, Soft Suede, Thoroughly Modern DSP
Inks: Soft Suede
Accessories: 1/4 inch Rose Red grosgrain ribbon, Scallop Edge punch

Splitcoast Sketch #242

Another Wednesday, another Splitcoast Card Sketch here.

If you haven't tried these, they're the bomb! As I've said before you can just trace the dimensions and have a really cute card, really fast. I needed a unisex card for our Home and School Association to have on hand so I thought this would fit the bill.
Here's my recipe:

Stamps: Trendy Trees and Teeny Tiny Wishes

Papers: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip and To the Nines Specialty

Inks: Chocolate Chip and Sage Shadow

Accessories: Stamp-a-ma-jig

A Sketch and Color Combination 2 for 1

It's a Two for Tuesday! I combined the MOJOMARIA sketch here and the Splitcoast color combo here to make this card. This week there is a new sketch every day at Mojo Monday to celebrate their 100th. And the color combo at Splitcoast was Close to Cocoa, Taken with Teal and Very Vanilla. I used the Stampin' Up Top Note Bigz die and ran a piece of Taken with Teal and Very Vanilla thru then trimmed down the Vanilla according to the little perforation lines. You gotta love the Circle Circus set and I obviously love Teeny Tiny Wishes because I reach for it all the time! Here's my recipe:
Stamps: Circle Circus and Teeny Tiny Wishes
Papers: Very Vanilla, Close to Cocoa and Taken with Teal
Inks: Close to Cocoa and Taken with Teal
Accessories: Stampin' Up Top Note Bigz die, 1/2 inch circle punch, 1 1/4 inch circle punch, 5/8 inch Very Vanilla grosgrain ribbon, Stampin' dimensionals

Monday Means Mojo

It's Monday and that means Mojo Monday. They're celebrating their 100th so they'll have a new sketch here every day this week. I decided to do another Christmas card because when you make and send over 75 cards you can never get started early enough. Plus, I wanted to show you another set that I pre-ordered from the Holiday Mini. The set is Berry Christmas and it's got a lot of fun images that you can combine for great cards or gifts. Here's my recipe:
Stamps: Berry Christmas
Papers: Whisper White, Real Red, Old Olive, Christmas Cocoa Specialty Papers
Inks: Real Red & Old Olive
Accessories: Scallop Circle #2 Bigz die, Scallop circle punch, 1 3/8 inch circle punch, 1 1/4 inch circle punch, 1/2 inch Mistletoe double-stitched grosgrain ribbon, Earth Elements brads, White gel pen,Stampin' dimensionals, Stamp-a-ma-jig

Stamping 411 Modern Bermuda For You

Another card done for this sketch over at Stamping 411. I really look forward to these sketches because they're very simple yet result in really nice cards! I needed to make some all occasion cards so I stuck with the One of a Kind stamp set. This coordinates with the Boho blossoms punch so it's really easy to stamp and punch. And I'm really liking the Thoroughly Modern designer papers too. They're bright and cheery!

Here's my recipe:

Stamps: One of a Kind

Papers: Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede, Thoroughly Modern Designer Series Papers

Inks: Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede

Accessories: Boho Blossoms punch, Bermuda Bay polka-dot grosgrain ribbon, silver brad, Stamp-a-ma-jig

Delightful Holiday Mini Sneek Peek

I had time to play with my Holiday Mini pre-order and wanted to share a SUPER quick, easy and adorable card. I used the Delightful Decorations and Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp sets again. I can't help but reach for Teeny Tiny Wishes, it has so many uses for all occasions! I also used the new Sleigh Bells ribbon. I stamped the little snowflake stamp with Real Red ink to create the little background. Here's my recipe:
Stamps: Delightful Decorations and Teeny Tiny Wishes
Papers: Very Vanilla, Real Red and Old Olive
Inks: Real Red
Accessories: Sleigh Bells ribbon, Scallop edge punch, Word window punch, Modern Label punch

PPA#3-Flowered Buttons

I had fun with this week's Inspiration Challange at PPA here. We were supposed to use a Pottery Barn picture as the Inspiration. Since my favorite colors are mostly in the Bold Brights, this was right up my alley! And, as I promised, I incorporated the Playground and Sherbet buttons that are on special (this post here) into this card. Even though I used 4 stamp sets and lots of accessories on this card it came together pretty quickly. One tip, I used really, really thin scraps of paper to "thread" the buttons. Here's my recipe:
Stamps: Always, Eastern Blooms, Enjoy Every Moment, Smarty Pants
Papers: Whisper White, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Razzleberry Lemonade
Inks: Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Tempting Turquoise Stampin' Write Markers, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red and Tempting Turquoise Classic Stampin' Pads
Accessories: Designer Buttons Playground and Sherbet, Bold Brights Brads, Bigz Scallop Circles #2 die, 1/2 inch circle punch, 1 inch circle punch, 1 1/4 inch circle punch, Glue dots, Stampin' dimensionals

Splitcoast Sketch #241-Modern Blooms

Better late then never! I finally got a quick chance to stamp today and this card came together in less than 10 minutes(after it took longer than that to decide which stamp set to use)!I followed this sketch #241 on Splitcoast. I can't say enough how easy these are to follow, especially if you print out the sketch because it prints out to the exact size of an A2 card! Then you can just trace and cut and you're good to go!!! With this one I colored the stamp with Soft Suede, Bermuda Bay and Rose Red Stampin' Write Markers. I left off a sentiment because I needed to make some all occasion cards for a custom order. Easy peasy!
Here's my recipe:
Stamps: Eastern Blooms
Papers: Whisper White, Sahara Sand, Bermuda Bay, Thoroughly Modern DSP
Inks: Soft Suede, Bermuda Bay and Rose Red Stampin' Write Markers
Accessories: None

Holiday Mini Sneek Peek & Stamping 411 #111

As I mentioned, I got my Holiday Mini pre-order and made this card with the Pumpkin Patch set. I also used this week's Stamping 411 challenge here. This set is too cute! You can just stamp the pumpkins and the stems or add one of three faces to make a jack-o-lantern. I will get lots of cute Halloween cards made with this set!

Here's my recipe:

Stamps: Pumpkin Patch, Polka Dot background(dormant list)

Papers: Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Cottage Wall designer papers

Inks: Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive

Accessories: 1/4 inch Pumpkin Pie grosgrain ribbon, Large Oval punch, Scallop Oval punch, Stampin' dimensionals

MOJO #99... on a Tuesday

After about the ninth load of laundry yesterday, I got to do the MOJO99 challenge here. I wanted to play with my Holiday Mini pre-order so I thought I'd use the Christmas Cocoa Specialty Papers and one of the new stamp sets I ordered, Delightful Decorations. And of course I had to have the matching Ornament Punch too! I stamped the ornament image in Soft Suede on Whisper White then punched it out and trimmed it down. Then I punched out an ornament in Real Red and layered the two images. I used the Merry Christmas stamp from Teeny Tiny Wishes with the Word Window Punch and the Modern Label Punch. I popped up the ornament and the label with Stampin' dimensionals. It might be hard to see but I also used a scrap of Gold Elastic Cord to make the ornament appear to be hanging from the punched circles. Another Christmas card to check off the list! Here's my recipe:

Stamps: Delightful Decorations, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Papers: Whisper White, Real Red, Soft Suede, Christmas Cocoa Specialty Papers

Inks: Real Red, Soft Suede

Accessories: Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, Ornament Punch, 3/4 inch circle punch, 1 inch circle punch,Gold Elastic cord, 5/8 inch Real Red grosgrain ribbon, Stampin' dimensionals

PPA2 Sketch Challenge

We're back from a fun weekend in St. Louis! We had a great time with the DeMarco family! They live in Kirkwood and it's just a darling town. So today I'm trying to catch up on laundry, sketches and challenges so I'm playing along again at PPA! This is a Stampin' UP demonstrators blog with fun challenges. Last week was a color combo and this week is a sketch challenge. I need a bunch of thank you notes so I made this one using the Cheep Talk stamp set and Pink Flamingo designer papers. The Stamp-a-ma-jig comes in very handy for perfectly lining up these images.

Here's my recipe:

Stamps: Cheep Talk

Papers: Whisper White, Cameo Coral, Pink Flamingo Designer Papers

Inks: Chocolate Chip and Summer Sun Stampin' Write Markers, Cameo Coral and Tempting Turquoise Classic Ink Pads

Accessories: Scallop edge punch, 1/4 inch Tempting Turquoise grosgrain ribbon

Get Well Card

I just love the bold flower images from the Garden Greetings set. Even though it's not in the 2009-2010 Idea Book and Catalog, it is on the Dormant List and you can still order it!

I think this is a bright and cheery card that would make anyone feel a little better if they received it! I used the Old Olive dotted piece from the Cottage Wall Designer Papers and stamped the Garden Greetings flowers in Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Summer Sun right over the patterned paper. The ribbon is the 1/2 inch Rich Razzleberry polka-dot grosgrain adhered on the reverse side. And the Scallop Oval punch adds a nice finishing touch.

I'm off on vacation for a long weekend to visit family in St Louis. Check back the beginning of the week for more posts!

Here's my recipe:

Stamps: Garden Greetings

Papers: Whisper White, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Cottage Wall Designer Papers

Inks: Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Summer Sun

Accessories: Scallop Oval punch, Large oval punch, 1/2 inch Rich Razzleberry polka dot grosgrain ribbon, Stampin' dimensionals

Even though sympathy cards aren't so great to have to give, I still feel good making them because I know people will appreciate that extra handmade touch during their tough times.
I followed this Splitcoast sketch challenge #240 for the card. It's easier to see in real life, but I ran the Whisper White card stock through the Big Shot using the Stampin' Up Backgrounds 1 texturz plates. I used the Night of Navy patterned papers from the Hostess Level 1 Patterns Pack Designer Series Papers. And I colored the flowers and stems with Night of Navy and Always Artichoke markers.

Stamping 411 Congratulations

I'm SO excited! One of the cards that I sent into Stampin' UP for the Stampers Showcase made it to their website on Saturday, August 1st!. It's this card here from my post back on June 22nd. It's nice to be able to share my creations! Now to today's card.

I'm playing along with this weeks' Stamping 411 challenge here. I can't say enough how fun and easy these challenges are yet they always result in really cute cards (in my humble opinion of course)! I used another stamp from the Fun & Fast Notes set. I thought it would compliment the masculine look of these papers. And who doesn't need more "manly" cards?

Here's my recipe:

Stamps: Fun and Fast Notes

Papers: Whisper White, Sahara Sand, To the Nines Specialty papers

Inks: Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke, Sahara Sand

Accessories: Coluzzle circle cutter, Fresh Favorites II colored buttons(artichoke), Chocolate Chip 1 inch double-stitched grosgrain ribbon

Mojo Monday #98

Happy Monday means another Mojo Monday Challenge here. And for me another Christmas card. I just pre-ordered from the Holiday Mini and am eagerly awaiting more Christmas goodies. I got some fun stamp sets, designer papers and of course, ribbon too! But for now I used what I had on hand to play with this challenge. The Old Olive patterned paper is actually from the Cottage Wall designer papers. And I ran the Real Red card stock through the Backgrounds 1 texture plate to add the little polka dots to match the Real Red 3/4 inch Polka dot grosgrain ribbon. I colored the Loads of Love truck image with inks and my blender pens. This set is great for lots of occasions and I really should use it more often!
Here's my recipe:
Stamps: Loads of Love, Loads of Love Accessories
Papers: Whisper White, Real Red, Old Olive, Cottage Wall designer papers
Inks: Basic Black, Real Red, Old Olive, Basic Gray
Accessories: Real Red 3/4 inch polka-dot grosgrain ribbon, Stamp-a-ma-jig,white gel pen, Stampin' Up Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plates, Scallop Circle #2 bigz die, Coluzzle circle cutter, Stampin' dimensionals, blender pens
