Final Day to order Last Chance Stamps & Accessories!

Today's the last day to order from the 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog. So I'm sending this catty off with a card using Boho Backgrounds and The Write Stuff Specialty DSP-one of my favorites! I also used Splitcoast sketch 286 here but I just flipped the sketch.
I started with a card stock base of retiring Ruby Red and added the dotted DSP. Then, there's also strips of Crushed Curry, Old Olive and Soft Suede DSP from The Write Stuff Specialty pack. And, there's even a die cut from The Write Stuff. I colored the dots and "wonderful friend" with Soft Suede and Ruby Red Stampin write markers and stamped onto that die cut. I added three Ruby Red brads to the Crushed Curry piece, an Old Olive button from the Playground Designer buttons and a piece of 1/2 inch Soft Suede polka-dot grosgrain ribbon. Good bye to the old but can't wait for all the new goodies!
Here's my recipe:
Stamps: Boho Backgrounds
Papers: Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Ruby Red, Soft Suede, The Write Stuff Specialty DSP
Inks: Ruby Red and Soft Suede Stampin' write markers
Accessories: 1/2 inch Soft Suede polka-dot grosgrain ribbon, Ruby Red brads, Playground designer buttons, Stamp-a-ma-jig

Last Chance for this year's Ronald McDonald Charities set-Very Thankful

I'm still concentrating on posting cards made with the Last Chance sets and accessories. This one uses the Ronald McDonald House Charity set, Very Thankful. And it uses The Write Stuff Specialty DSP too. I started with a card stock base of Very Vanilla. The different dotted papers are all from The Write Stuff Specialty DSP. I ran a piece of Ruby Red card stock thru the Scallop edge punch. I stamped the image in Soft Suede then colored it in with Old Olive, Ruby Red and Soft Suede Classic Stampin pads and blender pens. Then I punched it out with the Wide Oval punch and made the Old Olive oval under that with my Coluzzle. "Note of thanks" from Thank You Kindly was stamped in Soft Suede, punched with the Word Window punch and layered onto a piece of Soft Suede punched with the Modern Label punch. Finally, a piece of 1/4 inch Old Olive grosgrain finishes it off.
Here's my recipe:
Stamps: Very Thankful and Thank You Kindly
Papers: Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Ruby Red, Soft Suede and The Write Stuff Specialty
Inks: Old Olive, Ruby Red and Soft Suede
Accessories: Wide Oval punch, word window punch, modern label punch, Scallop edge punch, 1/4 inch Old Olive grosgrain, Coluzzle, blender pens

PPA#45 Thank So Much

I need some Thank You's for my daughter's graduation gifts so I made this cute one for the PPA#46 Color Challenge here.  I used the to be retired set, Think Happy Thoughts and the retiring Thoroughly Modern DSP and a die cut from the retiring The Write Stuff Specialty Papers.
I started with a Bermuda Bay card stock base and stamped the flower in Bermuda Bay. I ran a piece of Soft Suede thru the Scallop Border punch and added some dots with the White Gel pen. That was all adhered to the Thoroughly Modern DSP. On top of the die cut from The Write Stuff I added the sentiment stamped in Crushed Curry and punched with the 1 1/4 inch circle punch and layered  it onto a 1 3/8 inch circle punched from Crushed Curry. The flower was stamped in Bermuda Bay, punched with the 3/4 inch circle punch and  a gold brad was added to the center. A piece of 1/2 inch Crushed Curry polka-dot grosgrain ribbon finishes it off.
Here's my recipe:
Stamps: Think Happy Thoughts
Papers: Whisper white, Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede, Thoroughly Modern DSP, The Write Stuff Specialty Papers
Inks: Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry
Accessories: 1 1/4 and 1 3/8 inch circle punches, white gel pen, scallop edge punch, gold brad, Stampin dimensionals, 1/2 inch Crushed Curry polka dot grosgrain

I stamped the calendar in Chocolate Chip and "May" is from the Full Calendar set and was stamped in Crushed Curry. "Happy Birthday" was stamped in Chocolate Chip on Old Olive card stock and punched with the My Way punch and popped up on Stampin Dimensionals.
Here's my recipe:

This quick card covers two challenges. First, the PPA#41 Inspiration Challenge here AND the Splitcoast sketch challenge #279 here.

The base is Ruby Red with a piece of the DSP, then a piece of the Crushed Curry DSP and a piece of very retired Bashful Blue DSP. The die cut is also from The Write Stuff DSP and I stamped the flower images from Holiday Blitz in Bashful Blue, Ruby Red and Crushed Curry. Finally, I added "thinking of you" from Teeny Tiny Wishes which was punched out with the Word Window punch.
Here's my recipe:
Stamps: Holiday Blitz and Teeny Tiny Wishes

Stamping 411 All Star

I made this card for another Stamping 411 sketch here. I immediately thought of a star for the triangular element and then thought of the Sporting stamp set. This is a really great set for any athlete in your life. And you can pair it with any of the other sports sets on pages 78-80 of the Idea Book & Catalog.
I used the Night of Navy and Crushed Curry markers to color the stamp images. And the Large Star and Star punches layer perfectly. A silver brad finishes off the stars. And the small star image from Sporting fits perfectly in the Word Window punch.
Here's my recipe:
Stamps: Sporting
Papers: Whisper white, Crushed Curry, Night of Navy, Patterns Pack III DSP, The Write Stuff Specialty
Inks: Crushed Curry and Night of Navy Stampin' Write Markers, Night of Navy Classic Stampin' Pad
Accessories: 1/2 inch Crushed Curry grosgrain polka dot ribbon, Large Star and Star punches, Word window punch, silver brad, Stampin' dimensionals

Stamping 411-A Week Later

I caught up with the Stamping 411 sketch from last week. This week I've done lotsa "catching up" yet I don't feel so caught up! Oh well, I had fun with this sketch and used the most neglected In Color I own-Dusty Durango. Maybe now that it's fall I will use it more often! The row of pumpkins is from The More the Merrier. Another great set you can earn with Hostess benefits. I used blender pens to color in the pumpkins with Dusty Durango. Fun and fast.
Here's my recipe:
Stamps: The More the Merrier
Papers: Whisper white, Dusty Durango, Old Olive, Soft Suede, The Write Stuff Specialty papers

Playing with PPA #6!

Another good one over at PPA! I'm so happy I got to sneak downstairs to make this cute teacher thank you. Obviously I'm in the "back to school" mode and I immediately thought of The Write Stuff papers for this color challenge here at PPA!
The colors are Brocade Blue, Crushed Curry and Ruby Red.
The Holiday Blitz stamp set can be used for soooo many things and I thought the apple stamp would work well for the whole teacher thing. And the Spiral punch fits perfectly with my "back to school" theme. Pretty cute if I do say so myself!
Here's my recipe:
Stamps: Holiday Blitz and Thank You Kindly
Papers: Whisper white, Brocade Blue, Crushed Curry and Ruby Red
Inks: Brocade Blue, Crushed Curry and Ruby Red Classic ink pads, Ruby Red, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip Stampin' write markers
Accessories: 1 inch and 1 1/4 inch circle punches, Spiral punch, scallop edge punch, 5/8 inch Brocade Blue grosgrain ribbon, Stampin' dimensionals

PPA4-Anything But a Card

I had to play at PPA today! It's anything but a card and I immediately thought of this mini pizza box. Here's a link to Jen del Muro's instructions-warning, they're addictive! I made this one for a present for my daughter's friend. The box nicely fits a gift card, in this case an itunes card. I used Crushed Curry and a Ruby Red piece from The Write Stuff Specialty Designer Papers. I put the edges of the top of the box thru the Scallop Edge punch before I put the box together. The stamps from Think Happy Thoughts fit exactly in the 1 1/4 in circle punch. A little layering, a brad, some white gel pen dots and you're done. And the polka-dot grosgrain ribbon keeps the box tightly closed and adds just the right finishing touch. Here's my recipe:
Stamps: Think Happy Thoughts, Just Jawing
Papers: Whisper White, Crushed Curry, Ruby Red, The Write Stuff Specialty Designer Papers
Inks: Crushed Curry, Ruby Red
Accessories: Scallop edge punch, scallop circle punch, 1 3/8 inch circle punch, 1 1/4 inch circle punch, Earth Elements brads, Designer Hodgepodge Hardware ribbon slide, Crushed Curry polka-dot grosgrain ribbon, Stampin' dimensionals

Mojo Monday #96

Here's my take on this Mojo Monday week #96 sketch.
I can always use birthday cards so I made another one. I'm also loving The Write Stuff Specialty papers. I could have used one of the big flowers from the die-cuts but I tend to hoard my papers and die cuts. I used the Scallop Circle #2 Bigz die instead.
Here's my recipe:
Stamps: On Your Birthday
Papers: Whisper white, Soft suede, Crushed curry, Ruby red, The Write Stuff specialty papers
Inks: Ruby red, Soft suede, Crushed curry markers
Accessories: Trio flower punch, uni-ball Signo white gel pen, Soft suede polka dot grostrain ribbon, Scallop Circle #2 Bigz die, Coluzzle circle cutter, Stampin' dimensionals

Playing with Papers

I'm just enjoying making cards with some new papers I ordered from the '09-10 Idea Book and Catalog. These papers are from The Write Stuff Specialty papers. They're a little different in that you get 2 sheets each of 3 double-sided designs then 3 die-cut sheets of coordinating designs.

I think this card could be used for just about any occasion-just stamp what you need on the inside and you're good to go.

Here's my recipe:

Stamps: Circle Circus

Papers: Kraft, Soft Suede, Crushed curry, Ruby red, The Write Stuff Specialty papers

Inks: Crushed Curry, Ruby Red

Accessories: 1 in. circle punch, soft suede polka dot grosgrain ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals
